EASY DINNER IDEAS
The name “hot honey chicken” comes from the sauce. These crispy fried chicken legs are smothered in a spicy sauce made with honey, and it's SO GOOD!
You'll only need a few ingredients to make this easy recipe. Let's get started!
In a large container, marinate the chicken in buttermilk, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika.
Mix flour, cornstarch, salt and pepper together. Then remove the chicken from the marinade and dredge it in the flour mixture.
Let the coated chicken sit on a plate to soak up the flour, then re-dip them in the flour to coat completely.
Cook the chicken legs in the air fryer at 375°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
While the chicken cooks, melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Then stir in the honey and cayenne pepper.
Add the garlic and onion powder, and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes. Then let it cool.
Brush the sauce onto the chicken legs when they come out of the air fryer. Then, cook for 3 more minutes.
Serve them immediately with more of that delicious hot honey sauce on the side!
