This cornbread recipe is one of the easiest and most delicious quick breads you’ll ever make!  It’s completely homemade using ingredients already in your pantry.

Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a medium-size bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Add the Wet Ingredients

Add the milk, egg and butter into the bowl with the dry ingredients.

Stir the Batter

Stir until combined, but do not over stir. Batter will be slightly lumpy.


Pour the batter into a greased 8" or 9" baking dish.


Bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes.

Time to Serve

Let the cornbread rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
