Southern Green Beans with Bacon


What Makes these the Best Green Beans? 

One word for you: Bacon. These green beans are cooked in bacon grease AND topped with bacon crumbles - what could be better?

Simple Ingredients

You'll need to round up some green beans, pork bacon, onion, and a few seasonings to get started on this side dish. 

Cook the Bacon

Cook your bacon in a skillet over medium heat. Make sure you leave the bacon grease in the pan once your bacon is done cooking!

Saute Onion and Garlic

Saute the chopped onion for 3-4 minutes, until it's translucent. Then, cook the garlic for a minute or so. 

Add the Green Beans

Reduce the heat to medium-low, and add the green beans and seasonings to the mixture. Cover the skillet and cook for about 20 minutes. 

Crumble the Bacon

Crumble the bacon and stir half of it in with the green beans once they've finished cooking. Finally, sprinkle the rest on top!


And we're done! Bacon-covered side dish complete. Dig in and enjoy!
