- 16 oz angel hair pasta
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley, optional
Cook pasta in a large pot of well-salted boiling water according to the package directions, until al dente. Drain cooked pasta, but do NOT rinse.
Add pasta back into the same pot. Add the butter and olive oil, and stir until the butter has melted.
Sprinkle the parmesan cheese, and salt and pepper to taste, over the pasta. Toss till well combined.
Serve immediately with a little extra parmesan and optional fresh parsley on top. Enjoy!
- Storage: These noodles are best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet with a little extra butter for best results.
- Minimum prep and cook time is FAST! Love this one pot side dish that is always a kid favorite.
- I add olive oil because we do not rinse the pasta, the olive oil helps keep the noodles from sticking together.
- You can also save a cup of the hot pasta water to help moisten the pasta if it gets to dry. I personally would just add more butter and olive oil 😊 Can you ever have enough butter?
- You can use whatever pasta you have on hand with this recipe, however our favorite is always a thinner noodle. We like angel hair the best, but thin spaghetti will also work well. We also like to do this with fine egg noodles.
