Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with nonstick spray.
  • Add ¼ cup of marinara sauce to the bottom of the casserole dish.
  • Lay the raviolis flat on the sauce trying not to overlap. If you have a few extras leftover put them aside.
  • Spoon the marinara over the raviolis. If you had extra raviolis, spread them over the top of the other sauced raviolis. Then add sauce to cover the rest of the casserole. Top evenly with shredded mozzarella.
  • Cover casserole with foil and bake in oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until hot and cheese is melted and bubbling.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

To Store: Leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
To Reheat: When reheating, you may want to add a little more marinara sauce. You can do this in the microwave (in 30-45 second intervals) or in the oven (until the leftovers are warmed through).
To Freeze: Baked ravioli leftovers can be frozen for 2-3 months in an airtight container. Make sure to thaw them in the fridge before reheating.
Fresh Ravioli: Buy the kind kept in the refrigerator section, and use whatever flavor of raviolis you enjoy. I used portobello mushroom stuffed raviolis. You can also use frozen ravioli, but you will need to add more baking time (about 20 minutes more in cooking time).
Alfredo: If you prefer, you can swap out the marinara sauce for alfredo sauce. You can use our favorite Homemade Alfredo Sauce or your favorite jarred alfredo sauce (we find Rao’s to be the best store bought alfredo sauce).
Add Veggies: If you want to mix in some vegetables to this pasta dish, add fresh spinach below the layer of raviolis.
