Hamburger Hash

Hamburger Hash is an easy one-pan dinner that's ready in just 30 minutes! Ground beef, potatoes, and plenty of cheese come together to make a family-friendly dinner that always hits the spot.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef, or ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (any color)
  • 3 green onions, chopped, plus more for serving
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 large russet potato, cut into 1/2 inch cubes, about 1 pound
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, plus more for serving

Instructions 

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the onion and bell pepper. Use a wooden spoon to break up and crumble the meat as it cooks, until it is no longer pink. If you have a lot of excess grease, drain off the excess before continuing.
  • Add the green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, potatoes, and broth. Bring to a simmer, cover pot with the lid and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender.
  • Add the cheese and stir until melted and mixed in with the meat and potatoes. Serve immediately with more shredded cheese and chopped green onions.

Notes

Store: Transfer cooled leftovers to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave in short bursts, until warmed through.
