Ingredients

  • 12 oz can tuna, drained
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • ½ cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges, optional for serving
  • Homemade tartar sauce, optional for serving

Instructions

  • In a medium size bowl, add tuna, egg, mayonnaise and lemon juice, stir until well combined. Add regular (not panko) bread crumbs and mix together until well blended.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions, about 1/3 cup each. Shape into 4 patties using your hands.
  • Place the Panko bread crumbs on a shallow plate and coat the outside of the tuna patties with the Panko crumbs.
  • Using a frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Carefully place all 4 tuna patties in the pan and cook on each side for about 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown and crunchy.
  • Serve immediately with tartar sauce and lemon wedges, as desired.

Notes

Storage: When properly stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, these tuna patties will stay fresh for up to 3 days. If you’d like to freeze them, store them in individually and keep them in the freezer for up to 3 months. We like to reheat leftover tuna patties in the air fryer, it makes them crispy again!
