Italian Beef Crostini

This easy beef crostini recipe with melty cheese, garlic butter, and crunchy pepperoncinis is a quick Italian appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2” rounds
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons garlic butter spread
  • 1 pound Italian shredded beef
  • 8 slices provolone cheese, cut each slice into 4 pieces
  • Sliced pepperoncinis, optional topping

Instructions 

  • Place an oven rack on the second highest level to the broiler. Turn the oven to HI broil.
  • Place the baguette slices on a large baking tray and generously spread the garlic butter on each slice. Place under hot broiler for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until toasted and lightly golden brown. Remove from under the broiler.
  • Top each crostini with shredded beef and top with cheese on each baguette slice.
  • Place the tray back under the broiler for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until cheese is melted. Watch closely so the cheese does not burn!
  • Serve warm, topped with pepperoncinis, if desired!

Notes

Store: Once assembled, these beef crostini are best served fresh. However, you can store the ingredient separately in the fridge in airtight containers for up to 4 days. Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days as well.
